What We Are Not

The conservative misconception is that the prophet is a fortune-teller, a predictor of things to come. Conversely, liberals reduce prophecy to righteous indignation and social action. Neither convention adequately understands what is really at issue in the Israelite understanding of prophecy.

Homesickness isn't a desire for comfort or security or intimacy—although it can make people feel lonely. Home isn't a spiritual, Buddhist-like concept. It feels like a real place.

Blindness is not to be confused with doubt, disbelief, or so-called "blind faith."

"Waking up from the matrix" / "climbing out of the cave" does not mean not self-help, meditation, education, learning, skepticism, unplugging, psychedelics, conspiracy theories, "living your best self," or mumbo-jumbo about consciousness or quantum mechanics.
